Research Grants now available from DoD
The 2006 Defense Department budget includes "kidney cancer research" among the diseases eligible for medical research funding.
Potential Funding Opportunity!
The organization known as
Action to Cure Kidney Cancer has managed to secured 2006 Defense Department budget inclusion of "kidney cancer research" among the diseases eligible for medical research funding.
For the first time ever, kidney cancer has been included in the list of diseases that are eligible to participate in the $50 million Peer-Reviewed Medical Research Program (PRMRP) of the Department of Defense (DoD). The $50 million allocated for the DoD PRMRP is a competitive, open, peer-reviewed research proposal process that allows kidney cancer researchers, along with researchers from 24 other disease categories, to compete for the $50 million.
The Program will accept applications from mid-February for the next 90 days. Applications will become available in mid-February for download from the Program's website at that time - http://cdmrp.army.mil. The awards will be made in October 2006.
We are very grateful to our friends at Action to Cure Kidney Cancer who have made this possible.
